We offer a full range of programs and services, including therapy, family work, medication management, and community activities, all designed to support you throughout your treatment.
IRP-N offers a daily meeting with the nursing staff to support self-management. In this program, you'll have access to a program group aimed at developing your abilities to turn to peers for support.
IRP-G encourages using peer support to contain and learn from symptomatic behaviors. In addition to the other offerings of the Therapeutic Community Program, when you are in IRP-G, you'll have access to two groups per day, making this the most group-intensive residential program. Though nursing support is available, it is less intensive than the support patients receive in IRP-N.
Elms Transition Program: With access to the offerings of our Inn Residential Program–Groups (IRP-G), you'll continue to develop peer relationships and personal resources that help you contain and learn from your experience.
The Elms Program emphasizes the development of social and independent living skills for those ready to let go of regular meetings with nursing as well as the IRP groups.
In this program you're encouraged, with other patients, to function as a working unit and develop interpersonal and relationship skills through multiple weekly group meetings.
Developing social role competence through involvement in work, school, volunteering, or re-engagement in family roles is a focus of this program. You'll take part in practical workshops, educational offerings, groups, and one-to-one support as you become involved in activities outside of Riggs.
This program provides groups, activities, and a supportive interpersonal network if you are living independently in the local community while maintaining your treatment at Riggs. In the Day Treatment Program, you're encouraged to volunteer, attend school, or work. Over time, you can taper your days of involvement and participation in Therapeutic Community Program offerings.
This program provides a transitional phase as you are ending treatment at Riggs. You'll continue to receive individual treatment services but no longer participate in the Therapeutic Community or Activities Programs.
We offer two Process Groups in the Therapeutic Community Program at Riggs. These groups focus on central aspects of human experience that are relevant to relationships and treatment.
The Study of Authority
The Study of Belonging
Informal discussion or support-based gatherings focused on specific interests, shared experiences, or coping strategies.
Disordered Eating & Body Image Group
Queer & Questioning Group
Survivors of Sexual Abuse / Assault Support Group
Because many patients at the Center have histories of substance use or addiction, the substance use group is the one symptom-focused group that is offered on a regular basis as long as there is sufficient patient interest.
Substance Group Meeting
These groups are an open conversation and exploration of the topic with staff being actively part of the process. It is not studying the group dynamics.
Grief & Bereavement with Dr. Ridenour
Boundaries / Trust with Dr. Parish
Educational and skills-based sessions that complement therapy, focusing on building coping tools, emotional regulation, and personal growth.
Creative Exploration
Being in the Here and Now
Reflective Reading
Coping Skills Group
Activities promoting physical well-being, mindfulness, and balance as part of holistic treatment.
Pump it Up! With Jessi Nolet
A collaborative forum where patients take part in community decision-making, plan events, and discuss campus matters with staff.
